Gilbert Benjamin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 4, 1942.  He received his primary education in the public schools of Philadelphia & Cheltenham Township.  After graduating from Cheltenham High School, Cheltenham, Pa., in 1961, he attended Valley Forge Military Academy & College, Wayne, Pa., and College of Emporia, Emporia, Kansas receiving his degree in Business Administration. 


Gilbert has experience in Logistic Management, cargo transportation, motor freight and warehousing.  Having worked in the family business "Charles Benjamin Hauling and Rigging" (established in Philadelphia in 1888) for four years after college. In 1969, Gilbert started his own trucking company, American Freight Corporation, specializing in short hauling and import-export movement. In the year 1976 he founded the expansion of his business in forming American Freight Warehouse Co., Inc., for the storage of cargo and U.S. Customs bonded freight.


In 1992 he established Warehouse Service Inc. in Camden, New Jersey a company that provides consulting and services in the Logistic Management field to the transportation industry. Warehouse Service was named the General Order Service Warehouse for U.S. Customs Service in the Ports of Philadelphia, Chester, Wilmington, Salem, Paulsboro, Camden, Trenton, Atlantic City, Harrisburg, Bethlehem, Wilkes Barre, Scranton, and Allentown. In January of 2022 Mr. Benjamin retired and sold his business. 

Being asked to help by a few customers with logistical problems Mr. Benjamin decided he would return to business. In March he established LGB Imports Inc. a company designed to assist others through the process of logistical management.



After over 54 years and liquidating company assets Gil Benjamin decided not to retire but put his 54 years of logistic management ownership to use for others.  LGB Imports was formed in March of 2022 with the intent to help companies in need of all types of logistic management from Ocean shipping, Customs Consulting, transportation, warehousing, and distribution of freight both domestic and foreign.


LGB Imports has the ability to handle freight in any port in the Unites States. We have in the past cleared and hauled merchandise off the port of Los Angles destined for the east Coast. We do the majority of our work in the East Coast ports; Philadelphia, Newark, Edison, NY. We have availability to also handle cargo at the ports of;  Baltimore, Charlestown and Savanah.
